Journeys For Health The Founder’s Vision

Travel has always been a defining part of my life.

Before I trained as a nurse, I worked in the travel industry, across marketing, hospitality & tour leading, spending years exploring different parts of the world. Like many, I travelled with a sense of freedom & spontaneity, often taking each day as it came.

But over time, both my professional & personal experiences began to shift how I approached travel.

My 23 years in nursing, spanning over two decades across various specialties, led me to work within different healthcare systems in the UK & abroad. This has equipped me with a deep understanding of how health impacts daily life & how quickly things can become complex without the right preparation.

At the same time, my own travel experiences evolved.

  • Travel no longer felt as simple as booking a flight & just going. Health considerations, both my own & those of people close to me, became part of the process.

  • Planning, research & preparation became essential, not optional.

  • I started to see first-hand how overwhelming travel could feel when you are trying to manage health, uncertainty & logistics all at once.

It became clear to me that there was a gap between travel, travel planning & travel health services.

Although easy to source local travel clinics for immunisations & advice on disease prevention, there is little support when it comes to personalised guidance around managing health, wellbeing & the practical realities of travel.

Many people are left to navigate this space alone, piecing together information, second-guessing decisions & trying to anticipate risks without clear, tailored guidance or structured support to help them feel confident & prepared.

That is where the idea for Journeys For Health began.

Journeys For Health is built on the belief that travel should still be possible, even when health becomes part of the journey.

  • We have created a service that brings together clinical knowledge & real-world travel experience

  • We offer practical, personalised & grounded advice founded both in both health & lived experience

  • We offer service that supports people, not just in planning their trips, but in feeling confident, prepared & reassured throughout the process.

It is about approaching travel in a more considered way: understanding risks, planning realistically & supporting wellbeing alongside the experience itself.
